Today is a great day for a bit of culture in London today. It is the first day of a two day London Open House weekend. The way it works is hundreds of buildings across London and surrounding areas will open their doors to the public for free. You have a chance to see historical buildings that have contributed to the incredible architecture that London has to offer. This is a great day to get some culture and look at the beautiful architecture that makes up some of London’s most famous structures. You can have a great day all for free then continue the day with an evening of sky lantern launching.

Today and Sunday hundreds of buildings have free admission so the public can experience the architecture of the city. There are over 700areas participating. Some include walking architecture tours, architecture discussions or bicycling tours. Admission is free and you can get a PDF of all the buildings available or use modern technology to get around. There is even an iPhone application specifically designed to give you all the information you need about London Open House weekend including what buildings that are participating are nearest to you. Continuing the culture of the day, you can tap into some ancient culture with a modern twist by ending the evening with a launch of sky lanterns.

Pumpkin Sky Lantern Details

The pumpkin sky lantern is a new product for us but being based on the traditional paper lanterns we sell means we know quite a bit about it. These lanterns stand just under a meter tall and are a four sided, semi-square traditional shaped paper lantern. They come with our pre-attached, non-drop fuel cell which is another unique innovation that only NightSkyLanterns.co.uk’s lanterns have. We’ve had the vendor up the size of the fuel cell just slightly for this run so they will soar for up to twenty minutes and with the bright colour and the strong design, people from miles around will know exactly why the lanterns they see were launched.

On top of being stunning to look at, we spared nothing in ensuring the pumpkin sky lanterns were 100% environmentally responsible. Shameless promotions are something that most companies do on a daily basis. However, many get looked at with disdain for doing so, but not this month. With it being National Shameless Promotions month, companies all around England are able to go crazy promoting their company without the normal worry that people will perceive the promotion in a negative light. Obviously, we will be shameless promoting ourselves with our entire line of sky lantern products. Other businesses could use our paper lanterns as well in their promotions both this month and beyond.

Businesses all around England can use sky lanterns as part of their advertising onslaught this month or any time. Floating lanterns are a unique media that most businesses have not explored for their advertising but should. Launched at the right time of day from the right place, they would sail over buildings with logos painted on the sides with a company logo. The paper lantern would lend itself well to a stencil and paint or even a silk screen process of some sort to transfer a repeated logo onto many different paper lanterns quickly. Any advertising campaign could benefit from some floating lanterns being utilized as marketing.

We are going to take some of our paper lanterns and launch them with messages about the environment, letting any farmers that see them land know that our lanterns are not something they need to worry about because they are wire free and will not cause problems with their livestock.
